Our Printer Lineup

Printhead and ink technology are advancing quickly. As mentioned in "A Bit About Color" there are some colors that may reproduce better on one printer than another, because of subtle gradients or Hue. GRAfx 8 uses two different printers based on the reproduction. Our primary workhorses for Canvas and Textured Fine Art paper are Epson's 9880s, an eight color printer with piezo printhead technology. Our Canon iPF 8000 is a 12 color printer including 4 blacks, red, blue, and green, primarily used for photographic prints on semi-gloss,glossy or lustered and metallic substrates. There is always the exception, again based on the image's Hue, Saturation and gradients in different color ranges.
